Credit Manager

As part of our Credit department, you will be reporting directly to our Head of Commercial Banking and Operations.
Key Responsibilities
As a Credit Manager your daily activities will include:
- Managing a team of Credit Senior Officers.
- Building strong relationships with the Bank’s customers and delivering excellent customer service.
- Being responsible for the loans administration management of the bank’s credit portfolio.
- Conducting credit assessments and reviews for new and existing credit facilities including the compilation of recommendations to the credit committee.
- Assessing customers’ proposals in accordance with the organisations’ lending policies.
- Ensuring that all the required documentation is held on file for adequate credit assessment and record keeping.
- Assisting the Head of Commercial Banking and Operations in meeting customer priorities as required.
- Updating the credit procedures on an ongoing basis.
- Preparing periodic risk related reporting for the Head of Commercial Banking and Operations and the Bank’s Senior Management.
- Contributing to the overall business results by working together with team members across the organisation to grow sustainable revenues and meet the organisation’s goals.
- Upholding the Bank’s integrity among its various stakeholders and integrating AML/CFT considerations into the relevant aspects of his/her remit.
- Reporting circumstances that may bring the Bank into disrepute upstream as well as transactions that may represent elements of doubt to the Bank’s MLRO.
Skills and Capabilities Required
- Have a minimum of 4 years related work experience.
- Be in possession of a finance or banking qualification.
- Be able to work with minimal supervision, adopt a can-do approach and have strong self motivation.
- Have good organisational and time management abilities.
- Have strong communication, analytical and financial skills, ensuring clarity and accuracy when conveying information to senior/line management.
- Be a strong team player.
- Be fluent in both Maltese and English and have excellent report writing skills.
- Have an advanced working knowledge of Excel and a sound IT aptitude.
