Senior Officer - Business Solutions
The Role
The Business Solutions Specialist acts as an internal consultant, supporting the business in identifying, analysing, and implementing process, regulatory, and technology-driven improvements. The role bridges the gap between Business and IT, ensuring that business requirements are translated into practical solutions while maintaining compliance with relevant regulations and industry standards.
The successful candidate will work closely with stakeholders across the organisation to improve processes, support change initiatives, assess regulatory impacts, and contribute to the implementation of strategic business solutions.
Key Responsibilities
Business Analysis & Solution Development
- Gather, analyse, and document business requirements.
- Work with stakeholders to identify opportunities for process improvement and automation.
- Translate business needs into functional requirements for technical teams.
- Evaluate existing processes and recommend innovative solutions.
- Support the implementation of business transformation initiatives.
Regulatory & Change Management
- Monitor regulatory and industry developments affecting the business.
- Assess the operational and system impact of regulatory changes.
- Coordinate the implementation of regulatory requirements across departments.
- Ensure business processes remain aligned with regulatory expectations and industry best practices.
Stakeholder Management
- Collaborate with Business, Operations, Compliance, Risk, and IT teams.
- Act as the liaison between technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Facilitate workshops, meetings, and requirements-gathering sessions.
- Present recommendations and findings to senior management.
Project & Process Improvement
- Participate in projects from requirements gathering through implementation.
- Support testing, User Acceptance Testing (UAT), and post-implementation reviews.
- Develop and maintain process documentation and procedures.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives across the organisation.
Skills and Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Information Systems, IT, Finance, Management, or a related field. Professional certifications in Business Analysis, Project Management, Agile, or Lean Six Sigma are considered an asset.
- Minimum 2 years' experience in Business Analysis, Process Improvement, Change Management, Project Management, or a similar role.
- Experience in requirements gathering, process mapping, system implementations, and stakeholder management.
- Exposure to regulatory change and compliance requirements is considered an asset.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organisational skills.
- Ability to translate business needs into practical solutions and functional requirements.
- Ability to work collaboratively across business and technical teams and manage multiple priorities effectively.
- Excellent command of English is required; knowledge of Maltese is highly desirable.
