Regulatory Reporting Manager

The Finance & Treasury Department plays a critical role in ensuring the Bank remains fully compliant with all applicable regulatory requirements. As the Manager of the Regulatory Reporting Team, you will take full ownership of the Bank's regulatory reporting function, providing leadership, governance, and strategic oversight across all prudential, statistical, and supervisory reporting obligations.
You will serve as the primary point of contact for regulatory reporting matters, ensuring the integrity, accuracy, and timeliness of submissions while driving continuous improvements to reporting processes, controls, systems, and data quality. The role requires close collaboration with senior stakeholders across Finance, Risk, Treasury, Compliance, IT, and external regulators.
Key Responsibilities
Your responsibilities will include:
- Taking ownership of the Bank's regulatory reporting framework, ensuring all regulatory and statistical returns are delivered accurately, completely, and within prescribed deadlines.
- Leading the preparation, review, validation, and submission of regulatory returns, including FINREP, COREP, BR06, AnaCredit, CCR and other regulatory reporting requirements.
- Acting as the Bank's primary liaison with supervisory authorities on regulatory reporting matters, managing regulatory queries, inspections, ad hoc requests, and follow-up actions.
- Driving the ongoing development and enhancement of the Bank's regulatory reporting function, ensuring processes remain robust, efficient, scalable, and aligned with regulatory expectations.
- Establishing and maintaining a strong control environment over regulatory reporting, including governance frameworks, reconciliations, validation checks, and reporting policies.
- Working with the Bank’s Data team in overseeing data governance and data quality initiatives to ensure consistency, completeness, and accuracy across regulatory reporting outputs.
- Leading the implementation of new regulatory requirements and reporting changes, coordinating cross-functional stakeholders and ensuring effective delivery of regulatory projects.
- Providing subject matter expertise and strategic guidance to Executive Management on regulatory reporting developments, emerging risks, and reporting implications.
- Managing relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including auditors, regulators, software vendors, and consultants.
- Overseeing regulatory reporting systems, data warehouses, and reporting tools, including system enhancements, upgrades, testing, and user acceptance activities.
- Producing and presenting management information, analysis, and ad hoc regulatory reporting insights to the risk function, senior management and committees, as required.
- Developing, maintaining, and enhancing regulatory reporting policies, procedures, methodologies, and documentation.
- Leading, mentoring, and developing junior team members, fostering a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and professional excellence.
- Ensuring governance, risk management and AML/CFT, considerations are appropriately embedded within the regulatory reporting function.
- Remaining abreast of regulatory developments and proactively assessing their impact on the Bank, driving necessary changes and ensuring ongoing compliance.
Skills and Capabilities Required
- 3+ years in regulatory reporting, finance, risk reporting, or prudential reporting within a banking or financial services environment.
- Proven ability to take ownership of a regulatory reporting function and manage reporting obligations in a regulated environment.
- A tertiary qualification in Accounting, Banking and Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related discipline.
- Strong understanding of CRR/CRD requirements, EBA reporting frameworks, ECB requirements, and MFSA Banking Rules.
- Sound knowledge of regulatory reporting governance, controls, data management, and reporting best practices.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making capabilities with exceptional attention to detail.
- Advanced Excel and data analysis skills, with experience working with large and complex datasets.
- Demonstrated ability to lead projects, influence stakeholders, and manage competing priorities effectively.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to engage confidently with regulators and senior management.
- Strong leadership qualities, with experience coaching, mentoring, and developing team members.
- Proactive, commercially aware, and committed to continuous improvement and professional development.
