The Role

The Data Engineer will design, implement, and support the Bank’s data infrastructure, with a strategic focus on extracting business value from the Data Warehouse. This role is critical in driving a data-driven culture, integrating third-party systems, and ensuring robust, scalable, and high-quality data solutions that meet evolving business requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Engage with stakeholders to gather requirements and design scalable data solutions.
• Development and maintenance of ETL pipelines and data quality frameworks.
• Design and optimise data warehouse architecture, using the medallion architecture.
• Integrate various third-party systems into the data warehouse.
• Set up and maintain CI/CD pipelines for data workflows.
• Provide day-to-day support and guidance to the data team.
• Ensure all data engineering work complies with the Bank’s Data, Information Security, and related policies, as well as regulatory requirements.

Skills and Requirements

• 2+ years of experience in data engineering or related roles.
• Experience in data warehouse design and implementation.
• Experience integrating third-party systems with data platforms.
• Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and data quality frameworks.
• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
• Advanced SQL and performance tuning for data systems
• Experience with ETL tools and frameworks (e.g., SSIS, Azure Data Factory, dbt)
• Knowledge with .NET development and/or database administration will be considered an asset.
• Experience integrating third-party systems and APIs into data platforms
• Familiarity with data quality frameworks and monitoring tools
• Excellent stakeholder communication and technical leadership skills
• Understanding of data security principles, including encryption, access control, and secure data handling.
