Head of Finance & Treasury
The Role
The Head of Finance & Treasury is responsible for leading the Bank’s financial strategy, treasury operations, financial control, and regulatory reporting. The role ensures the Bank’s financial integrity, liquidity, capital adequacy, and compliance with all regulatory requirements while supporting the CEO and Board in strategic decision-making.
This position plays a critical role in safeguarding the Bank’s financial health, optimizing funding and liquidity, and driving sustainable growth.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Leadership & Strategy
- Develop and execute the Bank’s financial strategy aligned with overall business objectives.
- Act as a strategic advisor to the CEO on financial planning, capital structure, and performance optimization.
- Lead financial forecasting, budgeting, and long-term planning processes.
- Provide insightful financial analysis to support strategic decision-making and growth initiatives.
Treasury & Liquidity Management
- Oversee all treasury activities, including liquidity management, funding, cash flow forecasting, and investment strategies.
- Ensure optimal management of the Bank’s balance sheet, including interest rate risk and liquidity risk.
- Manage funding strategies, including wholesale funding, deposits, and capital markets activities.
- Monitor and ensure compliance with regulatory liquidity ratios.
Financial Control & Reporting
- Ensure accurate and timely preparation of financial statements in accordance with IFRS and regulatory standards.
- Oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting processes.
- Maintain strong financial controls and governance frameworks.
- Lead external audits and serve as the main point of contact for auditors.
Capital & Risk Management
- Manage the Bank’s capital position to ensure adequacy and efficiency.
- Collaborate with Risk and ALCO committees to manage financial and balance sheet risks.
- Contribute to the development and monitoring of risk appetite frameworks.
Leadership & Team Management
- Lead, develop, and mentor the Finance and Treasury team.
- Foster a high-performance culture with strong accountability and continuous improvement.
- Ensure effective resource planning and capability development within the function.
Process Improvement & Transformation
- Drive automation and efficiency in finance and treasury processes.
- Enhance financial systems, controls, and reporting capabilities.
- Lead finance-related transformation initiatives aligned with the Bank’s digital strategy.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field (Master’s preferred).
- Professional qualification (e.g., ACCA, ACA, CFA or equivalent).
- Minimum 10–15 years’ experience in banking or financial services, with significant exposure to treasury and finance leadership roles.
- Strong knowledge of banking regulations, capital and liquidity frameworks.
- Proven track record in treasury management, financial control, and regulatory reporting.
